On April 15, Professor Guo Yongxin, Academician of the Singapore Academy of Engineering and Dean of the Qingdao Research Institute of City University of Hong Kong, visited our college to discuss the "Wuhan University of Technology - City University of Hong Kong" "3+1+X" joint training program. Participants included Zheng Bolong, Dean of the School of Computer Intelligence; Shi Bin, Deputy Dean of the Undergraduate School; Qiao Dan, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office; Guo Zhiqiang, Deputy Dean of the School of Information Engineering; Li Guodong, Deputy Dean of the School of Physics and Mechanics; and Shi Bing and Zhou Junwei, Deputy Deans of the School of Computer Intelligence.

Bolong Zheng extended a warm welcome to Academician Yongxin Guo and expressed gratitude to the leaders from the supporting functional departments and sister schools. He provided an overview of the university's faculty development, disciplinary construction, program offerings, research fields, and integration between industry and academia. He emphasized his hope that this meeting would serve as an opportunity to further deepen international exchange and cooperation between the two institutions, with the "3+1+X" joint education program acting as the catalyst.

Academician Yongxin Guo expressed his thanks for the university's warm reception and elaborated on the overall framework of the "3+1+X" joint education program. He provided a detailed analysis of key aspects, including student majors, tuition agreements, practical courses, and credit transfer policies. He expressed the hope that both institutions would work collaboratively to ensure the high-quality implementation of the "3+1+X" program, thus laying a solid foundation for further in-depth collaboration.

During the meeting, leaders from functional departments and sister schools presented an overview of the university and the related schools, and engaged in thorough discussions focused on the "3+1+X" joint education program.
