The Key Laboratory of Intelligent Service Technologies and Standards for Integrated Publishing of the National Press and Publication Administration is spearheaded by Wuhan University of Technology (WUT). It is jointly established in collaboration with Guangdong Economic Publishing House Co., Ltd., Joint Publishing (H.K.) Co., Ltd., the Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau, Wuhan University of Technology Digital Publishing Engineering Co., Ltd., and other prominent institutions.
The Laboratory is dedicated to safeguarding cybersecurity, and cultural security in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). Its mission is to accelerate breakthroughs in key generic technologies for the GBA’s publishing industry, cultivate new drivers for regional economic growth through scientific and technological innovation, and generate effective momentum for the high-quality development of the Greater Bay Area.
Main Research Directions:
(1) Organization Technologies for Massive and Heterogeneous Knowledge Resources Based on Knowledge Graphs Addressing the challenges of fragmented publishing resources and the massive, heterogeneous nature of knowledge data, this research focuses on resource organization technologies. The goal is to establish a unified, open knowledge resource system and enhance management efficiency within the publishing industry. Key research topics include semantic representation methods for multi-source heterogeneous knowledge resources, professional content classification systems, and the construction of knowledge graph-based descriptive models. Additionally, the Lab studies scalable storage and efficient retrieval technologies for knowledge repositories to enable unified organization, rapid updates, and timely query responses, providing technical support for industrial integration.
(2) Semantic-Based Multi-Granularity Knowledge Resource Fusion Technologies Based on ontology models of digital publishing resources, this research designs intelligent algorithms for constructing multi-granularity knowledge labeling systems with incremental update mechanisms. Knowledge resources are abstracted into hierarchical, structured, and interrelated multi-granularity label systems to support adaptive expansion and updates under dynamic conditions. Furthermore, semantic-based label matching algorithms are developed to recommend appropriate multi-granularity labels for editors and align knowledge resources, thereby enabling intelligent annotation.
(3) Precision Knowledge Service Technologies Based on User Scenario-Oriented Interest Features While the cultures within the GBA share common roots, public cultural demands are diverse. Focusing on distinct user interest characteristics, this research explores precision knowledge service technologies. By analyzing users’ spatiotemporal behavioral trajectories, the Lab designs scenario-oriented interest prediction and diffusion-evolution algorithms. A four-dimensional interest graph covering “User–Time–Space–Interest” is constructed to accurately model dynamic interests across spatiotemporal contexts. Leveraging knowledge system labels, this approach significantly improves the efficiency and accuracy of recommendation services.
(4) Copyright Service Technologies for Digital Content Resources In response to the cross-institutional, cross-regional, cross-economic, and cross-cultural characteristics of industrial integration in the GBA, this research focuses on copyright value evaluation standards, management specifications for digital content, trusted transaction data management, and technologies for copyright confirmation and online infringement tracing. These efforts aim to establish rational pricing mechanisms and trusted transaction settlement schemes, providing robust copyright service safeguards for revenue distribution in digital content knowledge services.
(5) Big Data Integration, Analysis, and Empowerment Technologies for Publishing This research involves developing publishing data exchange standards and building a specialized big data service platform in the GBA to enhance regional data management and operations. Key topics include data security and privacy protection, data asset transaction regulations, governance mechanisms, and big data-enabled innovations in business and service models. The research also covers online–offline integrated operation optimization and intelligent decision-making, promoting the innovative development of the publishing industry in the GBA.
